About DVJ

Why we do what we do

DVJ was created to make Italian lifestyle in Japan easier to discover and more meaningful to experience.

Moreover, we found some topics were available for the Japanese community but not accessible for the Italians moving to Japan and vice versa. We found these 2 communities were eager to meet so we decided to create this missing bilingual space.

While many platforms talk about Italy or Japan separately, few focus on Italy IN Japan .

There are impressively specific topic dissected like Italian music, Italian language, Italian wine. But finding all the information in one place like a complete ecosystem was very hard.

What “Dolce Vita” means to us

私たちが選んだ名前は少し挑発的です。フェデリコ・フェリーニ監督の1960年の名作『La Dolce Vita（甘い生活）』からインスピレーションを得ており、イタリアの魅力を想起させますが、単なる気楽な日々を超える深い意味が含まれています。この映画は、仕事や儚い美しさ、そして人生の意味を追い求める姿を描き、「甘い生活」とは一筋縄ではいかない複雑なものであることを示しています。

このマガジンでは、イタリアの本当の姿を伝えることを目指しています。磨き上げられたポストカードのようなイタリアではなく、矛盾と対照が交差する国、人々が日々の仕事と小さな喜びをバランスし、コーヒーを飲みながら生活について語り、毎日通り過ぎる何世紀も前の教会に気を止めない姿。
そのようなイタリアの多層的で本物の魅力を、Dolce Vita Japanではお届けします。美しさ、才能、ユーモア、苛立ち、そして誠実な不完全さを併せ持つイタリアをご覧ください。
