As an Italian living in Tokyo, my eyes always drop on everything written in the Italian language, and a few walks in Shirokane made me realize how Italian this area is.

店名

白金は東京の中心的で豊かな街であり、イタリアン・レストランやショップを簡単に見つけることができる。 私が面白いと思うのは、白金でよく使われる女性の呼び名が「白金ーゼ」であり、ミラノ出身の女性を指す「ミラネーゼ」に聞こえることだ。 後者がミラノの住民を指すイタリア語であるのに対し、前者は白金の住民を指すイタリア語なのだ。

It first appeared in a magazine and now indicates wealthy businesswomen or housewives with conspicuous use of expensive Italian designer brands.

レストラン

白金には本当にたくさんのイタリアン・レストランがあり、すべてを試すことはできないと思うが、ドロゲリア・サンクリッカの朝食には誓える。

“Drogeria” is the ancient name for a shop and “Sancricca” is the Owner’s surname. Here you can have Italian coffee and sweets, but you can also eat lunch, have aperitivo, and buy some premium Italian ingredients.

We had lunch at Il Batticuore, the Italian chef was talented and friendly, like the rest of the staff.

残念ながらピザ屋さん「A rega’」は閉店してしまいましたが、本当に本格的だったので知った時はとても残念でした。

We crossed other Italian restaurants like “Trattoria dal Birbante” and “La Goccia Tokyo” which looked good as well.

ショップ

同じグループに属する「MONO Ca'TALY」と「OSCALITO」という2つの洋服店がある。そこでは洋服だけでなく、特に大きい方のMONO Ca'talyではアクセサリーやインテリアも売っている。

A mention goes to Erica, a Japanese chocolate shop with an Italian name and selling, in the second floor Italian present ideas. The name of the shop is “oggetti” which in Italian translates as “objects”.

キュリオシティ

The big street where nearly all the mentioned shops are situated is called Via Platino, which means Platinum (shirokane) street, or at least there is a plaque with this name, exactly how you can find in the Italian cities
