Exhibition: Gae Aulenti. Uno sguardo sul Giappone e sul mondo

100 works including drawings, photographs, models by the architect Gae Aulenti (1927 Palazzolo dello Stella – 2012 Milan). She was involved in projects such as the Center Pompidou and the re-adaptation from railway station to museum of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, Palazzo Grassi in Venice, the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. She is also the author of the project of the building of the Italian Cultural Institute itself.

Exhibition: Painting Love in the Louvre Collections

Love—a basic human emotion has been an important theme in Western art since ancient times. The exhibition showcase mythological paintings based on Greek and Roman myth, everyday life representations and religious paintings recalling the love for the family. Many Italian scenes and Italian painters are present like: Giuseppe Cesari, Luca Giordano, Sebastiano Conca, Giovanni Biliverti, Domenico Zampieri, Giuseppe Passeri, Leonello Spada, Giovanni Battista Salvi, Benvenuto Tisi, Domenico Maria Viani, Mariano Rossi, Carlo Francesco Nuvolone.

Booking in advance is warmly recommended!

Where: The National Art Center (Minato-ku)

When: March 1st – June 12th (closed on Tuesday – Open on March 21 (Tue.), May 2(Tue.) and closed on March 22 (Wed.) instead). From 10:00 to 18:00 (10:00-20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays)

Concert: Concerti di Tokyo Kudan Minami – n⁰3

Violin recital by Maestro Domenico Nordio, accompanied on the piano by Misawa Shiho. Program as follow:

-Luigi Dallapiccola (1904-1975), Tartiniana seconda. Divertimento per violino e pianoforte (1955-1956)

-Claude Debussy (1862-1918), Sonata per violino e pianoforte (1916-1917)

-Ferruccio Busoni (1866-1924), Sonata n. 2 (1898)

Conference and exhibition: Italian Design Day 2023

As part of the VII edition of the Italian Design Day, Michele De Lucchi is Ambassador of Design at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo. The exhibition accompanied by a conference intends to stimulate reflection on the role that design and architecture can play in building the human landscape of the future.
